NBA: James Harden got away with shooting foul against Hornets, preceding his fastbreak layup (video)

James Harden racked up the accolades for leading the Rockets to a 121-114 win over the Hornets on Tuesday.

But we might have told a different story if the game featured correct officiating down the stretch.

Harden got away with a shooting foul on Kemba Walker with two minutes left, according to the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report:

Harden (HOU) makes contact with Walker’s (CHA) arm that affects his driving shot attempt.

Not only did the missed call rob Walker – who’s shooting 83% from the line this season and 82% for his career – of two free throws, it sparked a Houston fastbreak. With Walker down, Harden pushed the ball ahead and used the Rockets’ 5-on-4 advantage and his individual mismatch to get a layup.

That’s potentially a four-point swing.

Houston’s lead once Charlotte began intentionally fouling? Three.
