New Hawks CEO posts open letter to fans: ‘We are very sorry’

With Hawks majority owner Bruce Levenson out of the picture following the discovery of an email that contained racially insensitive remarks, and in light of even worse comments made by GM Danny Ferry, the team has a new CEO who is left trying to pick up the pieces.

Steve Koonin penned an open letter to anyone who will listen apologizing once more for all that has gone on, while detailing plans to fix the situation at the same time.

The entire letter can be read below, and though it’s the right thing to do, the reality is that the fallout from these incidents may negatively impact the franchise for years to come.
