The Heat and Bulls were trying to have a playoff game Wednesday night — emotional, physical, chippy with a little trash talk thrown in.
The referees were going to have none of that.
They apparently wanted this played with all the passion of a Tuesday night in late January — they called nine technicals, a boatload of personal fouls, and Scott Foster ejected Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson. As you can see for yourself in the video above.
The referees certainly didn’t decide this game — the Heat were clear and away the more aggressive, dominant team, winning by 37 — but I hope starting Friday night in the United Center they let the guys play hard and show their emotions. Stop trying to put a lid on it and let these teams give us some playoff basketball.
Hat tip to Ben Golliver of The Point Forward for finding the video.
