Report: Wizards signing Jarell Eddie, waiving Ryan Hollins

ACC Basketball Tournament - First Round

GREENSBORO, NC - MARCH 12: Jarell Eddie #31 of the Virginia Tech Hokies and Davon Reed #5 of the Miami Hurricanes go after a loose ball during the first round of the 2014 Men’s ACC Basketball Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum on March 12, 2014 in Greensboro, North Carolina. With multiple big men facing injury, the Wizards signed Ryan Hollins.

Washington’s bigs aren’t much healthier, but now even more wings – Bradley Beal, Otto Porter, Gary Neal and Alan Anderson – are banged up.

So, the Wizards are turning to Jarell Eddie.

Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports:

Bobby Marks of Yahoo Sports:

Hollins, despite starting three games for Washington, probably wasn’t going to make it past that guarantee date, anyway. He likely clears waivers.

Eddie, who went undrafted out of Virginia Tech last year, is an excellent outside shooter. He made 45% of his 3-pointers in the D-League last season, and he’s making 52% so far this season. He’s playing to keep his roster spot even once the Wizards’ other wings get healthy.
