Robert Covington says he’s feeling better after blacking out, losing feeling in fingers

76ers forward Robert Covington suffered a scary-looking injury Friday, leaving the court on a stretcher.

Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly:

Covington said he temporarily blacked out and lost feeling in his fingers.

“There was a period when it was scary,” Covington said at his locker following the Sixers’ loss to the Pistons Saturday night (see Instant Replay). “But as time went on and I started getting more feeling back in my fingers, that’s when I realized that everything was starting to come back to me. That took a lot of stress and a lot of pressure off me. Then me hearing everyone around me, it just made me feel a lot better.”

Jerami Grant also suffered a concussion when the players collided.

Thankfully, neither injury was as serious as initially appeared possible.
