Video: Blowing up the Celtics... do they have a choice?

BOSTON, MA - JANUARY 06: Kevin Garnett #5, Ray Allen #20 and Paul Pierce #34 of the Boston Celtics react in the fourth quarter against the Indiana Pacers on January 6, 2012 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Celtics fans may not like this very much. Or, after the last five games they may like it a lot, come to think of it.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports were on NBC’s SportsTalk Tuesday talking how to fix the Boston Celtics. And their answer is pretty much “with dynamite.”

Would the Celtics really go this route? As I said, there is a big market out there for Ray Allen and a nice sized one for Kevin Garnett, but getting someone to take on $15 million next year for Paul Pierce is not going to net Celtics fans as much as they think before the trade deadline. That might be a move for this summer. If they go that route at all.
