A Packers spokesman said Thursday afternoon that the team might release a statement on the matter, but it never did. Hunt could not be reached for comment and his agent did not return a phone call.

We absolutely love Green Bay’s willingness to take out some of the trash from their old defense. Hunt, Truluck, and Thompson weren’t helping much in the present and certainly weren’t helping in the future.

DT Cletidus Hunt may file a grievance against the Packers for releasing him while he was injured.

Hunt reportedly needs rotator cuff surgery. “He wanted to play, but his shoulder wouldn’t let him,” Grady Jackson said. “They think it’s a torn rotator cuff. He’s probably out for the year.”

The team released Hunt after he suffered a torn rotator cuff during practice. Hunt had surgery last week and the Packers have agreed to pay him the $1.25 million he was set to earn in base salary this season.

DT Cletidus Hunt (knee) worked out in pads yesterday for the first time since August 4.

“He’s still struggling with the knee issues,” coach Mike Sherman said. “We’re trying to advance things a little bit because I need to know where we stand. That’s why he was out here today. We knew it was going to be in a limited role.”
