  • GB Defensive Lineman #95
Packers declared DL Devonte Wyatt, OT Rasheed Walker, OL Sean Rhyan, WR Samori Toure, and DL Jonathan Ford inactive for Week 5 against the Giants.
Wyatt, a first-round selection from Georgia, only has 28 snaps on defense this year. He appeared to suffer a quad injury in practice, going from a limited participant on Wednesday to consecutive DNPs on Thursday and Friday. The Packers can afford to give him some time off given his limited usage so far.

  • GB Defensive Lineman #95
Packers signed DL Devonte Wyatt to a four-year, $12.86 million contract.
All of it is guaranteed, standard fare for a rookie contract. Wyatt, a menacing defensive lineman on Georgia’s historic 2021 defense, will receive a $6.533 million signing bonus. Wyatt totaled 39 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks last season and was named first-team All-SEC and second-team All-American. Green Bay’s heavy investment in elite defensive prospects could give the Packers one of the league’s scariest defenses in 2022 and beyond.

  • GB Defensive Lineman #95
Packers selected Georgia DL Devonte Wyatt with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Packers unbelievably did not use either of their first-round picks on a wideout, leaving Allen Lazard as the team’s No. 1 receiver. Good luck to the Aaron Rodgers. Wyatt (6’3/304) was a member of Georgia’s 2018 recruiting class that also featured defensive tackle Jordan Davis. Yet another size/speed specimen from Georgia’s 2021 national championship team, Wyatt totaled 39 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks last season and was named first-team All-SEC and second-team All-American. Wyatt possesses elite size and burst for a man of his size, made evident by his 4.77 40 and 29-inch vertical jump. He closes quickly on ball carriers in the backfield but can also be spotted chasing down ball carriers downfield on any given play. Wyatt’s Combine would’ve gotten more buzz if not for Davis’ elite performance. His four-year body of work, motor, and plus athleticism should lead to multiple years of production at the NFL level.
