49ers interviewed Lions assistant special teams coach Jett Modkins for their vacant special teams coordinator position.
Modkins has helped the Lions play efficiently on special teams during his four-year tenure. Before joining up with the Lions in 2021, Modkins served as the Broncos’ diversity coaching intern and assisted with the offense. He is the son of former 49ers offensive coordinator, Curtis Modkins, who was a member of Chip Kelly’s coaching staff.
