By the time the preseason is over, it might be simpler just to list the names of players who didn’t get into a fight.

In this summer of fights around the NFL, the latest fighter is 49ers defensive lineman Tank Carradine, who got into fights in two practices in a row.

At the 49ers’ 12th practice of camp, Carradine got into it with a defensive teammate on the sideline and had to be restrained by linebacker Nick Moody. At the 49ers’ 13th practice, Carradine fought receiver Quinton Patton.

Coach Jim Tomsula stopped practice to tell the team to knock off the fights, although afterward he joked about the difficulty of pulling a guy the size of Carradine out of a scuffle.

“I thought I was going to be a tow truck,” Tomsula said. “Yeah, we handed out a couple citations yesterday. No, it’s the dog days of camp and it gets heated here and there.”

It’s been getting heated throughout the NFL this summer.
