The Bellevue, Washington police department is scheduled to hold a press conference on Thursday to discuss the arrest of Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman on Wednesday and his agents Derrick Fox and Mark Bloom have released a statement about the incident.

According to reports, Coleman’s pickup truck hit another car and Coleman walked away from the scene of the accident. That led to his arrest on investigation of vehicular assault and hit and run and the Seahawks have suspended him indefinitely pending further information.

“On the evening of October 14, 2015, Seattle Seahawk Fullback Derrick Coleman, Jr. was involved in a two-car collision soon after leaving a team meeting,” the statement reads. “While the facts of the case are still being determined, it seems Derrick may have fallen asleep while driving home from a Seahawks’ facility. The health and well-being of all involved is our primary concern, and we are thankful to report that both parties are expected to make a full recovery. We will continue to work closely with the local officials while a full investigation is being conducted.”

The Seattle Times reports that the driver of the other car may have suffered a broken collarbone in the collision. The Seahawks have re-signed quarterback/wide receiver B.J. Daniels to take Coleman’s spot on the roster.
