Shot in June, cornerback Aqib Talib is back in August.
The veteran cornerback will return to practice on Monday for the Broncos, according to James Palmer of NFL Media.
The incident happened on June 5, and the question of who shot Talib continues to be unresolved. Talib reportedly told police he was too intoxicated to remember who shot him, but he reportedly told others he shot himself, which the upper-thigh entry wound and lower-thigh exit would suggest.
The mystery isn’t surprising, given what happened to Plaxico Burress more than seven years ago for shooting himself with an unlicensed handgun that he carried into a Manhattan nightclub. Burress went to prison, and Talib surely fears a similar outcome if it’s true that he shot himself.
The best news for the Broncos is that Talib’s return puts the Broncos one step closer on defense to being what they were in 2015.
