Belichick declines to comment on Deflategate

You won’t hear a full-throated denial from Patriots coach Bill Belichick after accusations that his team deflated footballs in the AFC Championship Game.

The first question posed to Belichick on his conference call today was about what has now become known as “Deflategate,” but Belichick said questions should be posed to the league, not to the Patriots.

“Any questions on that you should talk to them about,” Belichick said.

So far, the league isn’t answering any questions, other than to confirm that it’s investigating whether the Patriots deflated some footballs in violation of league rules. If the investigation finds that the Patriots did break the rules, they could be fined or docked draft choices.
