Wednesday marked Devon Still’s first day back on the Bengals’ roster.
It also marked a banner day for the club’s sales of his replica jersey, the proceeds of which will benefit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and pediatric cancer treatment and research. These are efforts inspired by Still’s four-year-old daughter, Leah, who is battling cancer.
According to the Bengals’ website, the club had sold 1,000 Still jerseys as of Wednesday afternoon. The New Orleans Saints placed an order for 100 Still jerseys, the Bengals announced on their Twitter account, thanking New Orleans for its generosity.
The Bengals sold about 100 Still jerseys on Tuesday, per Bengals.com. The jerseys are priced at $100 apiece, meaning the sale has already raised more than $100,000 for its causes.
In a message posted by the Bengals on Wednesday, Still, a 25-year-old defensive tackle from Penn State, thanked fans for their support, saying he hoped it would improve awareness of pediatric cancer.
