The Bills are huddling with a player with whom they are quite familiar.
Free agent wide receiver Brad Smith, who played for the Bills in 2011 and 2012, is meeting with Buffalo on Tuesday, the team announced.
Smith played for new Bills head coach Rex Ryan in 2009 and 2010, and he worked with Bills quarterbacks coach David Lee in 2012.
The 31-year-old Smith has played the last two seasons for Philadelphia, appearing in 19 games as a reserve. Though he caught just three passes and carried just once for the Eagles, he notched 14 special teams tackles and recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown.
According to the Bills’ website, the team sees Smith as a special teams member and wide receiver.
