The Chiefs and tackle Branden Albert didn’t have the smoothest offseason, but Albert remained in town and remains an important part of the team as the starter at left tackle.
He’s not at left tackle right now, though. Albert went to the locker room after being shaken up in the second quarter of the team’s home opener against the Cowboys. Albert appeared to be favoring his left arm as he walked off the field with trainers in tow.
The Chiefs are calling it a left shoulder injury and say that Albert is questionable to return on Sunday. Donald Stephenson has replaced him at left tackle.
Kansas City used 40 Alex Smith rushing yards to set up an early touchdown, but the Cowboys have rebounded to take a 10-7 lead a little more than three minutes into the second quarter.
UPDATE 2:06 p.m. ET: Albert has returned to the game in the second quarter.
