Brohm hopes to get head start in quarterback battle

Brian Brohm was one of those that the draft graders gave high marks to.

Once thought to be a possible top-10 pick, he slipped to the end of the second round. He didn’t last two seasons in Green Bay.

Not even a useful third quarterback for the Packers, the Bills see Brohm as a possible starter. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen wrote recently starting quarterback position will come down to Trent Edwards or Brohm.

Brohm will get a head start this weekend at the team’s minicamp, which is for rookies and second-year players. (Brohm qualifies as a second-year player because of his lack of action.)

“I think it’s a pretty big advantage going into OTAs and the next minicamps to get this time under my belt,” Brohm told the team’s official website.

Brohm needs all the practice he can get. It seems like a safe bet both he and Edwards will start games for the Bills at some point in 2010.
