The Broncos made the first big mistake of Sunday’s game against the Patriots, but their defense was able to keep it from turning into a New England touchdown.

Jordan Norwood muffed a punt after the Broncos forced a three and out on New England’s opening possession, but the Patriots could only gain four yards after taking possession on the 31-yard-line and had to settle for a Stephen Gostkowski field goal.

Their defense returned the favor after the Broncos moved into the red zone later in the opening quarter and Brandon McManus kicked a field goal of his own after a third down interception.

Tom Brady is 0-for-6 through four New England possessions with running back James White dropping one on third down near midfield to set up Ryan Allen’s third punt of the afternoon.
