Browns sign four undrafted rookies

The Browns added four undrafted rookies to the roster as they began their rookie minicamp on Friday.

The team announced that they have agreed on contracts with Northern Illinois offensive lineman Tyler Loos, Kentucky offensive lineman Darrian Miller, Tennessee State defensive back De’Ante Saunders and Oregon State defensive lineman Dylan Wynn. The quartet will join the team’s 12 draft picks and a group of tryout players on the practice field this weekend.

Browns coach Mike Pettine said earlier this week that he views undrafted free agents as extra free agents after seeing several of them make an impact for the team last season.

“When you can sign a guy as a free agent that you had a fifth-, sixth-, seventh-round grade on, it won’t show up in the newspaper or be reported that ‘hey, you got an additional pick,’ but that was the case certainly with [Isaiah] Crowell and Connor Shaw a year ago; K’Waun Williams, Robert Nelson, Taylor Gabriel, guys we brought in at tryout camp,” Pettine said, via the team’s website. “They were not only able to make the team, but be productive members as well.”

The Browns will be hoping for the same kind of success from this year’s group as they try to find their way back to a winning record.
