Santa Claus is going to have to come up with some new ideas, because at this rate, every kid in the city of Charlotte is going to have a new football long before Christmas.
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has already thrown four touchdown passes, leading his team to a 28-14 lead over Washington. He’s 13-of-19 passing so far, for 158 yards.
With each one, Newton takes the ball to a kid sitting on the front row of Bank of America Stadium, making him the largest distributor of sporting goods in town.
Of course, the Panthers have had a bit of help today, as what appeared to be a pick-six touchdown for Washington was negated by penalty, and a number of turnovers and miscues have slowed what early momentum the visitors had.
