Vikings receiver Stefon Digg has become the first player in NFL history to catch 13 or more passes in consecutive weeks. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians revealed on Wednesday the not-so-secret plan for keeping Diggs from becoming the first one to do it in three straight games.

Put Patrick Peterson on him and hope that works,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Overall, Arians expected a defensive struggle in Minneapolis.

“I’ve always respected [Mike Zimmer] as one of the most sound, aggressive defensive coaches that I’ve ever gone against,” Arians said. “They don’t beat themselves. I think our defense, our defensive line is playing at a very high level right now. I think both offensive lines have their work cut out for them.”

Yes they will. With both teams trying to finagle a path to the postseason, a loss on Sunday will grease the skids toward ending the year on the first day of 2017.
