This has not been the best month for the football Fells family.

According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Cardinals tight end Darren Fells will be out two to three weeks with a shoulder sprain suffered in yesterday’s loss at Pittsburgh.

Fells had a strong opener as a receiver against the Saints, though he was previously considered more of a blocker. Veteran Jermaine Gresham will have to play a bigger role now.

Fells’ brother Daniel, who plays tight end of the Giants, is out for the season after a MRSA infection. There have been reports that his career is over, after numerous procedures to make sure the infection is out of his foot and ankle.
