New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones’ status for their game against the New York Jets on Thanksgiving could be in doubt after missing practice on Monday.

Well, the Patriots didn’t actually practice Monday, a day after their blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts, but the league requires a Monday injury report for Thursday night games. Therefore teams have to provide an estimation of practice status if they had actually held a practice.

According to the Patriots’ estimation, Jones would not have been able to practice on Monday. Jones injured his right ankle in the first quarter against the Colts on Sunday. According to the Boston Herald, Jones went to the locker room for X-rays before returning to the sideline in uniform with a heavily taped ankle for the remainder of the first half. Jones didn’t return to the sideline after halftime.

With a short week, it may be difficult for Jones to bounce back in time to play Thursday against the Jets.

Guard Logan Mankins and tight end Aaron Hernandez also would not have practiced on Monday. Mankins suffered an ankle injury against the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago and hasn’t been able to practice since. Hernandez has missed the last three games with an ankle injury as well.
