Changes start on Vikings staff; Pagac expected to run defense

Other than excising Brad Childress, it doesn’t appear the Vikings will be too different organizationally in 2011.

The power structure will remain the same, and coach Leslie Frazier looks likely to promote from within for the open defensive coordinator position.

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports there are “strong indications” that Fred Pagac will be promoted from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator. Pagac called the plays in Minnesota’s victory over the Eagles.

Changes have started happening elsewhere on the staff. Zulgad reports that quarterback coach Kevin Rogers, offensive line coach Pat Morris, and assistant offensive line coach Jim Hueber have all been let go. It’s unclear if offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will stay.

Mike Singletary is mentioned as a possible addition to the staff.
