Competitiveness fuels Nassib’s desire to be first quarterback drafted
Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib won’t be at the draft. But he could still shake things up from afar.
Greg Cosell of NFL Films recently put Nassib at the top of the incoming quarterback class, and Nassib was candid during a Monday appearance on PFT Live about his desire to have that come to fruition. It’s a matter of basic competitiveness -- the kind of competitiveness that helped Nassib go 3-0 against West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, the presumed first quarterback to be taken in the draft.
Nassib had plenty of other good things to say as he reflected on the private workouts he has conducted, the visits still to come, his willingness to use his legs as well as his arm, how he stays healthy when running, and whether he’d choose protecting his body over getting into the end zone.
Teams that have shown interest in Nassib include the Bills, Browns, Jaguars, Jets, Cardinals, and Eagles. Once he lands with an NFL team, we’ll have him back on the show to discuss how it all happened and where it will go from here.
