The Cowboys spent their second-round draft pick on linebacker Jaylon Smith, who isn’t expected to play at all this season. And now their third-round defender is dealing with an injury as well.

Maliek Collins, a defensive tackle from Nebraska whom the Cowboys took with the 67th overall pick, suffered a broken foot in Organized Team Activities.

Collins had surgery and is expected to miss 10-12 weeks. That would indicate that he could miss all of training camp.

Tyrone Crawford, Cedric Thornton and Terrell McClain will be the top three players in the Cowboys’ defensive tackle rotation. They still hope Collins will be healthy enough to join that rotation when the season starts.
