Darrelle Revis: It probably wasn’t one of my better games

Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis had some rough outings last season, particularly against Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins in losses that kept the Jets from making the playoffs.

He had another rough one to open the 2016 season. A.J. Green caught most of his 12 passes for 180 yards against Revis, including a 54-yard touchdown that gave the Bengals a 10-7 lead in the first half of the game. Revis showed some understatement when asked about his outing.

“It probably wasn’t one of my better games,” Revis said, via “I can take a punch on the chin.”

The Jets shaded safety Marcus Gilchrist to Green’s side on occasion, but Revis played plenty of man coverage during the game. It didn’t turn out well, but Revis said he isn’t worried about more problems in the weeks to come.

“Definitely not,” Revis said. “We do have a lot of experience. This is our second year of being together. We’ve just got to tighten some things up. I definitely have confidence in the secondary we’ve got.”

Watkins is on tap for Thursday, so Revis and the rest of the defensive backs will have to get things together quickly.
