It has been more than a month since Raiders running back Darren McFadden injured his foot and he finally made it back to the practice field on Monday.
Steve Corkran of the Bay Area News Group reports that McFadden worked out with a team trainer without the protective boot that he’s been wearing since spraining his foot. McFadden didn’t do much, just walking around the perimeter of the field but, as the saying goes, you’ve gotta walk before you can run.
Corkran opines that the Raiders are likely looking to the team’s December 11th date with the Packers for McFadden’s return to game action, although the team doesn’t have much reason to rush him back. Michael Bush has done a fine job of replacing McFadden’s production on the ground and Carson Palmer has looked comfortable while guiding the team to three straight victories.
Having a healthy McFadden will be a big plus, obviously, but they aren’t so desperate for that boost that they need to risk further injury.
