Cross the name of Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter off the list of head-coaching candidates.

Koetter has signed a contract extension with the Falcons and agreed not to consider any head-coaching opportunities this year, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports.

According to the report, Koetter thinks running an offense led by quarterback Matt Ryan and featuring wide receivers Roddy White and Julio Jones is a great opportunity that he’s not ready to leave, and that as long as he’s running that offense, he’ll have other offers in the future.

The 53-year-old Koetter already met with the Chiefs about their head-coaching vacancy on Tuesday, and he had been planning to interview with the Eagles and Browns. But he decided it was in his best interests to stay in Atlanta.
