Dolphins sign fifth-round pick Arthur Lynch
The Dolphins, who begin their rookie minicamp Friday, have reached their first deal with a draft pick.
The club announced the signing of Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch on Thursday. Lynch (6-5, 258) was the first of Miami’s two fifth-round selections in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The 23-year-old Lynch set career-highs in catches (30), yards (459) and touchdown receptions (five) in his redshirt senior season with the Bulldogs in 2013.
The Dolphins have drafted a tight end in each of the last four years. The first tight end selected in the sequence, Charles Clay, became a major receiving threat a season ago, hauling in 69 passes. Lynch will most likely compete with 2012 draft pick Michael Egnew and 2013 pick Dion Sims for reps.
