The Texans entered Sunday with a patchwork line, and it got worse as the day went along.
But it’s unclear when they’ll get mainstay left tackle Duane Brown back on the field.
Via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Brown offered no time frame for when he might return from the right thumb injury that left him inactive for yesterday’s loss to the Panthers.
“Definitely as soon as possible, man,” Brown said. “It’s hard for me to sit on the sidelines and just watch my guys. I try to support them any way I can and help them any way I can. I’m definitely trying to get back as soon as possible and contribute.
“Not sure yet [about next week against the Buccaneers]. We’re taking it a day at a time, seeing how it progresses. Hopefully. I’d like to get out there, but we’ll see.”
The Texans also lost right tackle Jeff Adams during the game to a serious knee injury, which required an air cast and a cart to get him off the field. That had them putting undrafted rookie Kendall Lamm at right tackle along with backup Chris Clark in Browns spot on the left.
So while time might help Brown, they’re also 0-2 and scrambling at the moment.
