Dwayne Bowe needs a new team after the Chiefs cut ties with him last week and the Browns need receiving targets with Josh Gordon suspended and Jordan Cameron skipping town.
The two needs may lead to a deal for Bowe in Cleveland. Bowe told Josina Anderson of ESPN that he arrived in the city on Saturday to start a visit with the team.
Bowe is coming off a touchdown-less season for the Chiefs and has had three straight years of diminished returns compared to his efforts in 2010 and 2011. Some of that was due to the limitations of Kansas City’s offense and Bowe would likely find a lot more opportunities to make plays downfield coming his way in Cleveland, although it would hardly be a perfect quarterback situation based on the current makeup of the Browns roster.
Bowe and Michael Crabtree rank as PFT’s top available free agents at wide receiver.
