The Seahawks are trying to rally from a halftime deficit in San Diego and they may have to do it without safety Earl Thomas for a while.
Thomas has been taken to the locker room on a cart after leaving the game in the third quarter with what’s being called cramps. He’s expected to return to the game, but the Seahawks will be in a deeper hole when he returns.
Philip Rivers threw his third touchdown pass of the game to Antonio Gates a few plays after Thomas left the field. The throw was right down the middle and Kam Chancellor got there a bit too late to knock the ball loose from the tight end’s meaty paws.
The score makes it 27-14 Chargers with three minutes to go in the third quarter, leaving the Seahawks with a lot of work to do if they’re going to leave town with a win.
