Colin Kaepernick is still not standing for the national anthem.

And this time he has company.

According to Matt Maiocco of, the 49ers quarterback was joined by safety Eric Reid during the playing of the anthem before tonight’s game against the Chargers (on military appreciation night in San Diego). Both opted to take a knee.

After the anthem was played, the two embraced and went about their business.

Reid’s move is a tangible show of support for all the heat Kaepernick has taken in the last week, and makes it clear he’s not alone.
