Larry Johnson, a former All-Pro running back with the Kansas City Chiefs who quickly rose to stardom and then just as quickly saw his fortunes fall both on and off the field, is in trouble with the law again.

Johnson was arrested today for battery/domestic violence by strangulation, according to the website of Clark County, Nevada. According to TMZ, this is the fifth time Johnson has been arrested, and the previous four arrests were all related to accusations that he assaulted women. reports that the latest incident occurred on the property of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

A first-round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2003, Johnson was an All-Pro in 2005 and 2006 and still holds the all-time NFL record for carries in a season, with 416 in 2006. His career fizzled, however, after that season, as he became less productive on the field and consistently found himself in trouble off the field. The Chiefs dumped Johnson after he served an NFL suspension in 2009, and he briefly played for the Bengals, Redskins and Dolphins after that.

Johnson is expected to remain in jail until going before a judge on Saturday morning. There is no word on the identity or condition of the victim in the case.
