NFL players Da’Quan Bowers and Ricky Sapp were involved in an altercation with Farrah Franklin, formerly a member of the R&B group Destiny’s Child, which resulted in Franklin being arrested for disorderly conduct.
The Associated Press reports that Bowers told police that he had flown Franklin in from her home in California to visit him in Myrtle Beach, and that he, Franklin and Sapp got together for a night of drinking on Saturday night.
When the three of them went to Sapp’s home, however, Franklin was “yelling, slamming doors and refused to stop when asked,” according to the police report. That led Bowers and Sapp to call the police. When police arrived, they found Franklin in Sapp’s neighbor’s yard, and according to the report she told police she “did not have anywhere else to go and was planning on sleeping in the woods.”
Franklin was a member of Destiny’s Child for five months in 2000, but she was removed from the group because, according to Beyonce Knowles, she did not show up for three major promotional events. This is not Franklin’s first disorderly conduct arrest.
Bowers is heading into his fourth season with the Buccaneers. Sapp has bounced around the league with the Eagles and Jets and was picked up by the Texans in November.
