FALCONS BREAK OUT THE WILDCAT

And the copycatting continues. A week after the Pats used a direct snap to Kevin Faulk to score a key touchdown against the 49ers, the Falcons have used the Wildcat formation during Sunday’s game against the Bears. On a play early in the third quarter, the Falcons snapped the ball directly to running back Jerious Norwood, who then took off for a 21-yard gain. The Dolphins have made the Wildcat formation famous this year, using it for wins against the Patriots and the Chargers. Against Houston on Sunday, the Dolphins already have used it six times, including one direct snap to Ricky Williams, and a touchdown pass from Chad Pennington after a snap to Ronnie Brown and a handoff to Pennington. The Falcons currently lead the Bears, 19-10. Rookie quarterback Matt Ryan already has 272 yards passing against the Chicago defense. The game can be followed right here.
