Former security chief withdraws lawsuit against Saints

Geoffrey Santini, the former security director for the New Orleans Saints, has withdrawn his lawsuit against the team after the team’s lawyer’s sent the matter to an arbitration judge.

The Associated Press reports that a motion filed Thursday indicated the Saints waited more than a week after the suit was filed to invoke an arbitration clause in Santini’s contract rather than do battle over the lawsuit in civil district court.

I’m not the lawyer around here, so I’ll refrain from trying to break down what this all means and what happens from here until knowing more.

Sending the case to an arbitration judge means that neither side can publicly discuss the case.
