If Frank Gore changes his mind this time, he won’t be able to sign with another team unless the Colts release him.

The Colts announced Tuesday afternoon that they have agreed to terms with the longtime 49ers running back a day after Gore’s apparent deal with the Eagles fell apart due to second thoughts on the veteran’s part.

The deal with the Eagles was reportedly going to pay Gore $7.5 million in guaranteed money and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Gore has improved on that number in Indianapolis. Schefter reports there will be $8.5 million guaranteed by the Colts, who have also signed linebacker Trent Cole and re-signed safety Mike Adams among other moves on Tuesday.

Gore should take over as the team’s top running back and he may be joined in the lineup by fellow former Miami Hurricane Andre Johnson. The veteran wideout and Colt antagonist when he was with the Texans travelled to Indy with Gore on Tuesday to meet with the Colts.
