Oakland Raider wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey’s NFL career is off to a somewhat rough start. Roughly a month after a minor hamstring injury suffered during a minicamp, the first-round draft pick remained sidelined at today’s workout, according to David White of the San Francisco Chronicle. Per the report, Heyward-Bey is still dealing with lingering soreness from the injury. Heyward-Bey was in uniform, but didn’t have his helmet. “Heyward-Bey is not practicing,” White wrote. “Just watching.” The speedy former University of Maryland standout dropped three consecutive passes during his first NFL minicamp. The Raiders have drawn a lot of criticism for selecting Heyward-Bey with the seventh overall pick of the NFL Draft.
