Hoyer reportedly “concerned” by his most recent concussion

Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer has suffered his second concussion in less than a month. The first one, sustained during a November 16 win over the Bengals, caused him to miss a game. The latest could cause him to miss more time than that.

Per Ed Werder of ESPN, Hoyer is “concerned” about the concussion, and for good reason. While science hasn’t completely figured out the link between multiple concussions and long-term cognitive problems, there is concern that the damage gets worse with repeated head injuries.

“I take it very seriously, having a family and two young kids, I mean, you hear horror stories,” Hoyer told PFT Live last month, after he returned from the last concussion.

It’s unclear when Hoyer will be back from his latest concussion. During Sunday night’s game between the Patriots and Texans, NBC’s Cris Collinsworth said that Hoyer used acupuncture to address the symptoms of his prior concussion.
