When former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski was fired for interviewing with the Jets in a long-shot chance at geting the head-coaching job there, some league observers concluded that Jagodzinski might have had his eyes on a position in the NFL other than head coach, and that he used the interview with the Jets as a way to instigate, Costanza style, his termination at B.C. Though it’s unknown whether that was Jagodzinski’s plan, he definitely has scored another opportunity. Jagodzinski will interview for the vacant offensive coordinator position in San Francisco, per NFP (via Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat). Jagodzinski worked as offensive coordinator of the Packers before being hired by Boston College after the 2006 season. Since Jagodzinski was fired “without cause,” he’ll be entitled to the balance of his contract at Boston College, less any amounts earned in another coaching job. UPDATE: Maiocco now reports that Jagodzinski will not be interviewed by the 49ers.
