Well, at least they didn’t wait until it was too late.
The Jaguars activated linebacker Daryl Smith Saturday, bringing him back from the injured reserve/designated for return list, according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.
Smith had missed the first 14 games with a groin injury, and made it back for the final two games for the 2-12 Jaguars.
To make room for him on the roster, they placed safety Dwight Lowery on injured reserve.
Smith is the Jaguars’ franchise leader in tackles, but will be a free agent in March. This gives him a jump start on proving whether he has an value to the Jags, or another team.
