Jalen Ramsey feels 100 percent healthy, ready to go at training camp

Rookie Jalen Ramsey feels 100 percent following a knee injury and will participate in training camp, which Mike Florio believes is key to the Jaguars' success.

There was some fear that lightning struck twice for the Jaguars when cornerback Jalen Ramsey injured his knee at a practice last month, but the prognosis for Ramsey’s partially torn meniscus turned out to be far more positive than the torn ACL that kept last year’s first-round pick Dante Fowler off the field in 2015.

Ramsey had surgery to trim the meniscus and the team shared a video of the fifth overall pick running without any obvious complications last week. On Wednesday, Ramsey said that his knee already feels 100 percent and that he “will definitely be ready” for training camp after spending the last stretch focused on the mental side of the game.

“That has probably helped me even more,” Ramsey said, via the team’s website. “I’ve been able to watch a lot of film and just watch the practices and try to stay mentally tuned in and put myself out in the positions out there mentally. I ask questions about corner, nickel, and whatever position, but other than that I’m really so motivated and just want to go and do it.”

No knee injury is a good thing, but it certainly seems like Ramsey’s chances of having the expected positive impact on the Jaguars defense haven’t been greatly impacted by this one.
