Once the Rams get to training camp, we’ll have a weekly TV show to keep us apprised of how rookie quarterback Jared Goff is adapting to life in the NFL.

Until then, it will be up to Goff and others in the organization to fill us in on how things are progressing for the first overall pick of the 2016 draft. With OTAs starting this week, they have some more expansive on-field work to use as part of their analysis and Wednesday brought good reviews.

Running back Todd Gurley was impressed by Goff’s arm and Case Keenum said the rookie aiming to take his job has impressed with his ability to get the team in and out of the huddle, which Keenum said he struggled to do at this early juncture of his career. Goff feels things are off to a good start as well.

“I wouldn’t know any other way, I guess,” Goff said, via the team’s website. “I’m picking it up at a pretty good pace, I think, and feel really good as far as how fast I pick it up. And I’m able to apply most of it out here. Again, there’s mistakes, but that happens. I’m young and learning. So when there is a mistake, just learn from it, and try not to let it happen again.”

Goff isn’t working with the first team yet, but some work with the starters is expected before OTAs are out and he should get plenty of those reps come training camp. If the self-assessment and outside reviews are on target, it won’t be long before he’s getting all of them.
