Sudden free agent Josh Norman has a new agent spearheading his search for a new team, but he took an even higher authority with him to his first free agent visit.

According to John Keim of, Norman brought family members along with him to his visit to Washington, including his mother.

Along with photos of the black Suburban motorcade bringing him into the team facility posted by CSN Mid-Atlantic, the signs are mounting that Norman’s first visit might be his last, or at least that Washington is serious about this.

Jacksonville has continued to show a degree of interest, but Washington makes a degree of sense for Norman at several levels. They have positional need, and an apparent willingness to pay him closer to the $16 million a year average than the Panthers were willing to.

They’re also close enough to Norman’s South Carolina hometown to allow him to bring his mother along, which isn’t standard procedure on free agent visits.
