Veteran unrestricted free agent defensive end Kevin Carter visited the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, according to Nate Caminata of Scout.com. In 14 NFL seasons, Carter has recorded 364 tackles and 104 1/2 sacks. Last season, he registered 49 tackles and four sacks while starting every game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carter, who has prior stints with the Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and the St. Louis Rams, played for new Lions coach Jim Schwartz in Tennessee when he was running the Titans’ defense as their defensive coordinator.
