Lance Moore’s stay with the Falcons turned out to be a short one.

The veteran wideout signed with the Falcons on Friday, but he has decided to draw the curtain on his NFL career rather than continue to compete for a spot in Atlanta’s offense. Moore announced his retirement through the team on Monday morning.

Moore saw action in 10 seasons and ends his career with 389 catches for 4,816 yards and 44 touchdowns. He broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Browns in 2005 and signed to the Saints practice squad after being cut from Cleveland’s roster. He remained with New Orleans through the 2013 season and was part of a Super Bowl champion before moving on to the Steelers and Lions the last two years.

Moore’s signing gave the Falcons some veteran receiving depth behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, so they’ll have to look in a different direction if they want some during the regular season.
