League moving closer to L.A. return

Fifteen years after the Raiders and Rams vacated Los Angeles, the league is moving closer to a return.

We’ve been posting from time to time stories regarding the two stadium projects in L.A. -- Ed Roski’s “if they come, we will build it” proposal in City of Industry and the Casey Wasserman/Tim Leiweke downtown digs.

Peter King of SI.com and NBC reports that, once the labor situation is resolved, the league will “get cracking” on bringing a team back to L.A., with the Wasserman/Leiweke project being the preferred option.

King speculates that the Chargers, or maybe the Raiders, would be the primary candidates to move back to L.A. (Each franchise once was headquartered there.)

Any team without a long-term stadium solution could be in the mix, including the Vikings and, in time, the Rams, another former L.A. team.
