Add the Lions to the list of teams hoping to get in on the action of hosting an NFL draft.

Lions President Rod Wood said as the team opened training camp that one of his goals is to bring a draft to Detroit, although plans are preliminary and Wood isn’t even sure what the process is for getting the league to pick Detroit.

“As I said before, I’d love to do it,” Wood said, via the Detroit Free Press. “I’ve not heard about how they’re going to open that process up to bidding, or people just bidding on their own, or requesting an opportunity to do it on their own. But I’ve not yet expressed an interest on behalf of the team.”

After decades in New York City, the NFL moved the draft to Chicago for the last two years. In 2017 the draft will reportedly take place in Philadelphia, and several other teams have said they want to host the draft in future years.
